How green are you?

How green am I?  not so much I believe we could be very green if we want. For me it means not only “save the planet” but save ourselves from the garbage that the society of consumerism invite us to buy in my house we recycle all kind of plastic and organic rest of food.,we also have a hole big box for all the papers that left from old notebooks.and one for batteries and used  electronic devices
I refuse to buy myself any kind of technologic object that I don’t really need, this is hard to keep true because my dad is very much into “new technologies” smartphones and all kind of new little toy that will always end in some garbage collector in a few years, And of course wants to buy me anything that he finds cool.
I also use as  my every day transport my loved bicycle I propose to myself never came to the university again in bus.
I also like to re use all kind of objects from clothes to old cassetes,I have made a very cute wallets from it. I believe the word
disposable has to get out of our vocabulary.

The English class and University

I have always like very much this subject :English, since my school’s days, but here in the university (and yes in the school too)I have to say I did not like too much what this was about, last smester, it used to be little boring and slow, professor did not make so much talk activities besides dissertations ,and this(talk) I think it has to be the main aspect of the class, because of that the aspects that I think the subject need to improve are related to make the language closer to students ,we all listen and watch English movies this makes the task easier if the professor, take advantage of that by the practice and the talk activities.
That I believe, I have developed a lot this year in class, especially in the use of this blog. For me it means a real space to put on practice, with total freedom and confidence, the little English that I now, it is also fun because most of the time English class began of talk about simple not so attractive subjects but here we have developed a lot of different subject very related to our personal lives which makes the task easier and funnier.
All of this is very important for us these days because we are introducing ourselves to an academic world that requires a minimal basic management of English language. This importance increased for those like myself that plan to study abroad. It is also already important because a lot, but not most of them of the papers that we have to read for the career are only in English

The Perfect Song

Hello!Today I would like to talk about "The" perfect song.I should say that "Moon River" composed by Henry Mancini and interpreted by the great Audrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's is a perfect song for me and probably in the english list, the greatest I never get bored of this since the first time I heard  when i was watching the movie breakfast at Tiffanys years ago i got totally trapped but the history and the this song came in a simple perfect scene.Since then it became like anthem for me.not so much for the content of the liryc but for the song on itself,it is like a perfect lullaby that transport me  to a peacefull mood.my thing with this song today its related with my grandmother:In 2005 she was very illed for the first time has to stay at the hospital by urgency.and stay there for long weeks, sadly me and my family where here in Chile and she lived in the Unied States, only my dad was able to travel and stayed with her, since then I could talk to her by webcam , she was able to see us by the camera an talk, I used to be learning piano by that time so I rember played for her, someday she was not able to talk not even wake up a Little to watch the computer, but was able to hear,so I started to send her songs that i like, by that time I meet this lullabay and I send her, my dad said she got happy to listen it,because she recognized the song that probably knew long time ago..Few weeks later she pass away, and here in chile whe made a ceremony there was a lot a lot of people. me and my brothers made a video of pictures of her and all of this people that lover her to much and one of the soundtrack was this song.and since all this the song will always remind me my grandmother she used to have also a sweet voice like Audrey and transported me to a peaceful mood,I can imagine her singing it,so I never doubt to listen this song when I feel sad and also when im happy and greatful.

A video that I like

  • Hi everyone! I will talk to you about a music video that I like. This video is from a indie rock band called Grizzly Bear and the song of the video is called Ready Able.I saw this video for the firt time a few years ago and I got  absolutly trapped by it and also by the song. This video was made with the animation technique of stop motion that is use to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.The results are amazing considering the simple of the procedure,I made a little stop motion project for the school and its very fun and easy to make,.The thing with this specific stop motion its that they used plasticine and some few other materials to make the whole video so the figures are always transforming and mixing their colors to create a new figure.all this guided by a very flowing melodie.I think is a very great job thats why I have search for more of its director called :Allison Schulnik and found a lot more amazin videos .I like his work also because he kind of mix sometimes creepy figures like clowns o weird faces with a lot of color and light very much like grizzly bear music seems to me like a perfect mixture of this two atmospheres they also have a lot of great videos made by other directors all very creative and alucinant.

Cheers!

:::Career related article::

Hi everyone !
Today i will write about a online database that conects the knowledge of geographers ,engineers, and artist.
This database is called "Placing Literature" and  is an online database of places from scenes in literature  sourced and plotted by readers and researchers. Created by an author, a geographer and an engineer, the goal of Placing Literature is to connect readers to the places they are reading about, highlighting the meanings, values and emotions attached to a space. Particularly, in this case, the meanings and values created by the author and experienced by the reader.

I think this is a very good example of what I like and what I think is great of this career which is to have the tools to be able to work with such a different areas as plastic art and literature and by this create something useful for society .it have been always interseting for me the way that the expression of every culture are so much related to their geography and i believe that projects like these helps us to expand ,create and recreate the rich part of our culture.I also like to much to read,is another way of travel and visit places.

I recomend you to visit the website and be part of this!
Cheers

Hi everyone today I will talk about a country that I would like to visit.
First of all, I should say that over a one only conutry I would like to visit, and travel through all of this continent:America .By know this its  kind difficult to get in a short period so i have propose to myself travel every year to a different country, by know i have been already in :Paraguay,Uruguay,Argentina,Bolivia,United states. So my next countries on the list are: Peru, and Ecuador.Peru means a lot for me beacuse i have been recentlyvery close to its culture trough its dance and music.i have discovered a very rich culture that its very related to the culture here in Chile but it seems like they have enjoyed and lived it way much more than us.Anyhow I would like to visit Peru because of its culture and this is  related to its history, in Peru where developed one of the most ancient and powerful civilizations of the continent .Actually: The Inca empire was the largest empire in pre Columbian America..This means a lot for me and encourages me to know more of its territory, people, history, culture, landscapes, ruins, their geography.

A day I will always remember

The summer of 2011 I went to Uruguay with a group of my best friends.
We arrived into a beach village on the Atlantic side, and someday  we went to tour a forest that crossed all the village,we walked and get in to a clear site were  was possible to watch the sky full of stars ,by then it was already late and dark, we decided to go back to the village, but none of us was able to remember the way back!,so we walked and walked the forest got infinite. Finally we spent 5 hours trapped in, without light walking in circles, finally we got out following the uproar of some cows that we have seen before on the beach ,we were walkin calling the cows, they answered as they now we were lost, and the only light we had was a litle insect called noctilucas which are brilliant at night.we finally go out went to the village drink some beers on the Street ant late the Singer of one of my favorite uruguay’s band was playing at a bar so we went, tired but extremely happy.

My Biography

My name is Francisca Gonzalez I am 20 years old I live in Santiago ,Chile. I am the youngest of my family I have two sisters and one brother, Two cats and one dog.
In this moment I am studying geography it is my second year and I really like what the career it is about.
I studied my whole life in a school called Francisco de Miranda I keep with me the best memories of this place. I totally believe is one of the best places to grow up.
I also studied almost a year in California, United States. I went to lived there with my mother and sister in 2007, the experience was totally great I meet people from all over the world and  I learned English, sometimes I believe I should not be in this class but finally it works for me to practice and of course to learn more, specially all about vocabulary.

The thing I like the most it is to dance. I also like outdoor sports, listen music, trying to play guitar and accordion, watch movies, hang out with my friends, to read, draw, cook, write, and travel, but mostly spent some time laying with my cats at home

My Ideal Job

My ideal job would be one in which i can be  frequently out of the city, touring different places, landscapes and cultures and because I love to dance my ideal job will be to be in a dance company that travels around the world.

This kind of job would be good for me because I like very much to dance every kind of music I could be doing this all the time ,I would not endure a job that requires to be mostly in a office, also because a like to travel and meet  different cultures and people I am not the kind a person that miss their bornplace when they travel.

The difficults that I could found might be the one associated with physical resistance. To dance requires a lot of training and energy, mostly in a tour.
Anyhow I like it so much that I would be happy to train hardly in order to dance and travel as a work

::::My experience at school::::::

I was lucky to study in a very special great school since I was 2 years old until my graduation’s day.
In this school ,called: Francisco de Miranda, there was a lot of freedom in every sense; from the clothes ( I have never worn uniform in my life) to the relationship with teachers.
These little freedom issues created a very  friendly atmosphere between students.
There was no bullying cases, this I believe was also because of the diversity of people that studied there. some with down syndrome, autism, Asperger, a few on
wheelchairs, a lot of foreign ,also because of the none uniform there were every kind of clothing style .
The level of diversity that I experienced in my school days taught me a lot of basics values like:  respect, fairness, caring, empathy, acceptance.
AIso I have to highlight
all the great teachers that I had ,with some I still keep contact, but all of them taught
me a lot of things beyond academic issues.
in my school days I meet my best friends ,some when I was 4 or 5 years old ,and we are friends until now,i could not imagine mi life without them.

on those days I had all the free time of the world, class where not easy but neither hard, also teachers were very understanding they were helpful and always encourage us to study in a reasonable way but there was not a sensation of pressure
and competition to have the best score as I know happens in most of schools where kids grow up believing that scores define how much successful they will be  ,made them believe this is more important than other essential things, they grew up stressed addicted to compete.
In my school days I learned how wrong this is, at least for what I want for my life
.
